Dear Parents and Guardians:

Report Cards: In today’s envelope are your second trimester report cards for students in grade Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Please keep the report card, sign the brown envelope and return it to school. If you have any questions about your child’s grades please contact their teachers.

Mardi Party 2022: Thank you so much for all your support of our online event! We had a lot of fun, and raised a lot of money for our students and school. Thank you for your donations, auction items, and raffle tickets. We sold a total of 835 raffle tickets. Congratulations to our raffle winners: $1,000 Tami Pfeuti, $500 Katrina Jackson, $250 Jeff Eckdhal! So we will be celebrating on Friday, March 18 with a movie(Homeward Bound), popcorn, and no homework for one day that week (as determined by your child’s teacher). In the spring Aliyah Shelton (3rd grade) will be our principal for the day, and Mr. Peters will get to kiss a pig, for all to enjoy! Thank you to the following members of the committee: Marci Boss, Betsy Brennan, Katrina Jackson, Carrie Mortimer, Hattie Stuessey, Danyell Stevenson, Mike Jerge. Also thank you to the folks who were helping the night of the live event: Breanna Baljo, Cindy Blanc, Robert Hille, Christi McKibben, and Joe Tomasiciwicz. It really was a team effort to pull this huge event off! Please mark your calendars as May 20 will be an adult only Dueling Piano event, more details will be coming!

Lenten Journey: Today begins our 40 day Lenten Journey. Fr. T. has proposed that we should work on a 3-1-1 during this season of Lent.

3-Find three things that are distractions or negative behaviors that impact your relationship with God and work hard to get rid of them.

1-Pick one prayer, or one intention that you can focus on daily for the next 40 days.

1-Choose one charitable thing you can work on daily for the next 40 days.

(Saying kind words, being a good friend, doing our chores without being asked)

This is a great way to focus ourselves on becoming a better person and follower of Christ.

Fish Frys: St. Clare of Assisi Parish will continue to offer Lenten Drive Thru Fish Frys on the following dates: March 4, March 18, April 1, April 15. The times will be from 4:30-7:00 pm. We are in need of homemade desserts during these fish frys (brownies, cakes, cupcakes, cookies). If you would like to bring a dessert, please contact the school office. These desserts will need to be delivered to school by Thursday before 3:30.

March PEP Donation: We are collecting deodorant for this month’s Personal Essential Pantry through St. Vincent DePaul. If you are able to donate, thank you in advance.

Jump for Heart: Thank you for your generous donations to our collection. We raised $221.87 for the American Heart Association.

Congratulations: The 4th and 5th graders participated in the Catholic Daughters of America contest, our school winners: Saoirse Hubert (Computer Art) Elise Steinmann (Art) Elizabeth Veeder (Poetry) and Noah Kruse (Essay). They will move on to the state competition.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade: We will be participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade around the Square on Thursday, March 17 at 5:17 pm. As a school we will meet and gather and walk around the Square showing our school spirit. More details will be coming as to where to meet, etc. We hope you can join us!

April 2, A Night at the Drive In: The Home and School would like to sponsor a “Night at the Drive In” after the 4:30 pm mass. This would include food, popcorn, and a movie in our gym. We are asking families, if able to, to decorate a box, that would act like a “car” for your child(ren) to sit in while watching the movie.(They wouldn’t have to spend the whole time sitting in the box, but just a fun thing to do) There will be a car decorating contest. Many more details to follow, but they wanted to make sure you had the date in your calendar. It sounds like a great family fun night!

Thank you so much for all that you do to support St. Victor School. We are truly blessed to have such amazing community support behind our wonderful school. Please make sure to support all of those who sponsored and donated toward our Mardi Gras event!

God Bless,

Joe Peters

Principal
