Dear Parents and Guardians:

What a wonderful Cheese Days weekend!  Thank you so much for your family’s participation in the events. We sounded great at the concert as well as a wonderful representation at both the children’s parade and the big parade on Sunday. I would like to thank Jennifer Chapman and Janet Shuda for their work in preparing for these. I would also like to thank Miss Blanc for her work in making our students sound so great.  Thank yous as well to Ron Brandt for driving and flat bed for the big parade and for Jake Veeder for the hay bails.  We also thank Mark and Jenni Coplien for providing us a space for the float to be decorated and stored.  Finally we had a wonderful team of beer sellers on Saturday night:  Brittany Klitzke, Mark and Jenni Coplien, Janet and Mike Shuda, Mike and Jennifer Chapman, Wes and Andrea Speer, Michele Wilson, Lucian Lemak, Heather Huschitt, Lisa Moon, Marci Boss, Karla Ripp, Betsy Brennan, Jake Veeder,  and Cali Sheesley.

Book Signing:  This Saturday, Sept. 22 our own 3rd Grader Beckett Smith will be having his first official book signing event. Beckett authored a book entitled The Colorful Teeth. The book signing will be held at The Monroe Arts Center from 1:00-3:00 pm.  We are so proud of Beckett and this accomplishment.  More details can be found at:  https://www.facebook.com/events/2268308066735035/

Home and School General Meeting:  Next week will be our fall Home and School General Meeting. It will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 6:00pm in Nilles Hall (church basement).  This is  great opportunity for parents to come and learn what is happening at our school regarding Home and School.  We have been offered an opportunity for a new fundraising from the Knights of Columbus of St. Clare of Assisi Parish.  I have created a quick online survey for you to fill out.

Link to survey:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2KH6GCY

Please take a few minutes to fill this out. We will be discussing the results at the meeting on Tuesday night.  Finally, we will be offering BABYSITTING (we have a few alumni, and their friends who will be helping to watch children to make attending the meeting easier for you).  There is an agenda and the minutes from the spring 2018 meeting as well. If you have any questions about Home and School, please feel free to let me know.

Parent Teacher Conferences: It is hard to believe but our first Parent Teacher Conference is just around the corner.  There is information to sign up in today’s envelope.  The dates of the conferences are Thursday, October 11  and Monday, October 15. Please fill out the form and return to the office by Friday, Sept. 28. You will be receiving a confirmation in your Family Envelope on Wednesday, October 3.

Chicken Dinner:  St. Clare of Assisi Parish will be sponsoring a Chicken Dinner on Sunday, Oct. 7 from 10:30-1:00 pm. Please plan on joining your community for a great meal as well as good fellowship.  A reminder to please sell your raffle tickets and return the money to the office.

Hearts for the Classrooms: Paper hearts with needs for the classrooms are located on the bulletin board outside the 4K room. If you would like to take one down to make a purchase it would be greatly appreciated.

Grandparents Day:  It is not too early to begin thinking about Grandparents Day! It will be held on Thursday, October 18. We will begin with liturgy at 8:30 am, followed by an Open House, refreshments and a program in the school gym.  All Grandparents, Special Friends, and family members are invited.  The whole morning will end around 10:30 am. We look forward to you joining us!

Calendar Reminder:  This is another reminder that on April 22-23-24 there will be NO SCHOOL for St. Victor School only.  The faculty will be attending a professional development opportunity in Chicago.  Please make sure you make appropriate child care plans for those dates off. Thank you in advance for allowing our teachers to attend this convention.

Drop Off and Pick Up:  A reminder that supervision does not begin until 7:45 am in the morning, we ask that you please not drop off your child prior to that. Also school dismisses at 3:10(2:10 on Mondays) if you are going to be late, would you please make sure the office is aware.

Thanks so much for a great start to the year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call school, 325-3395 or email, joepeters@stvictormonroe.org.
