From the Principal's Desk

June 6, 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we put a “wrap” on the end of another great school year, I would like to thank you all for your continued support of our school and its mission.  I know that you have a choice in education, and I thank you for making the sacrifices to send your child to our school.  My prayers are for a restful, safe, and enjoyable summer with family and friends.

A reminder that Mrs. Booth is looking for some help in the library on this Friday beginning at 9:00 am. If you could spare an hour or two I know she would appreciate it!

Balances for Hot Lunch:  A reminder that all unused hot lunch money will be “moved forward” to the 2018-19 school year.  PLEASE if you have not made your final lunch payments for our current year, please do so as soon as possible.

Report Cards for the Third Trimester are in today’s envelope. Please look over and if you have questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.

Summer Office Hours:  The school will be open the month of June from 8:00-Noon, please call before you stop by to make sure someone is here. (As we have a few meetings in June that we need to attend in Madison).  The office is closed in the month of July.  We are also available by email throughout the summer.

Summer Dates:  There are a few summer dates I wanted you to be aware of:

June 18-22 is our Vacation Bible School. There is still time to register. Call the Parish Office, 325-9506 to do so!

July 23-24-25 is the Catholic Daughters Clothing Drive Drop off. The 26-27-28 is the Clothing Drive. Please help out if you are able to.

July 28 is the Second Annual Generosity Day on the Square. We had so much fun last fall making banner for the police, fire, EMS, and Sheriff’s Department. We again will be doing a project to help bring joy to those people who keep us safe and secure. I will be reaching out this summer for help on this event. If you could spare an hour of time, we are going to make our community GREAT!

August 4 will be the Swimming and Yearbook Party at Rec Park.  We will begin with swimming from 11:00-12:30 followed by pizza and a signing of our yearbooks!  This event is FREE for your family (even if you didn’t order a yearbook come and join us, and if you would like a yearbook some will be available that day as well).  More information will be coming out via Facebook (so make sure you follow us if you do not already)!

September of 2018 will bring Cheese Days again!  We will be participating in the Friday night Children’s Parade as well as the Sunday “Big Parade”.   We will also be participating in the Friday night Children’s Talent Show! More information will be coming, but we hope you can enjoy Cheese Days weekend with your school community.

NCEA Convention 2019: A reminder that in April of 2019, the staff of St. Victor School will be attending the National Catholic Education Association’s annual convention in Chicago.  We will not be in school Monday April 22 through Wednesday, April 24. Classes will resume on Thursday, April 25.  This is for St. Victor School ONLY, the School District of Monroe will have regularly scheduled classes that week. Thank you in advance for your support of this great opportunity for our teachers and staff!

SCRIP:  Thank you so much for your commitment to the SCRIP program this year.  I encourage you to use SCRIP throughout the summer for all your purchases (groceries, gas, suntan lotion), each time you purchase gift cards it helps our school community. Thank you to Mr. Eckdhal and Mrs. Coplien for their hard work on the SCRIP program this year!

Again, blessings to your family for a wonderful and great summer!  Things will be busy around our parish and school as they begin the building of the new gathering space. I would ask your prayers for all those who will be working with this project during the summer. Life will be busy, but very, very good.

Happy Summer Vacation and God Bless!

Joe Peters
