Dear Parents and Guardians:
We continue to thank you for your continued support of St. Victor School. I encourage you to continue practices that keep your family healthy and safe. I know that the holidays bring challenges of wanting to get together with family and friends, but I would encourage you to keep social distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing. I would limit your exposure to people outside your direct family. We have been doing a great job with being able to stay in person with our instruction, but do realize that may change depending on the amount of cases in our community. A reminder that Thanksgiving break begins after school on Tuesday, November 24.
Help Wanted: I would like to thank Carolyn Hyland who has been part of our food service program for the last 12 years. Carolyn has made the decision to take a well deserved retirement. Her last day with our school will be in December right before Christmas break. We will need to hire a replacement for Carolyn. The job is between 15- 20 hours per week, from approximately 10:00-2:00 Monday through Friday. The position is for 36 weeks in the year. No experience is necessary and if you are interested, or know of someone who may be interested, please have them reach out to me at school (608)325-3395 or by email: joepeters@stvictormonroe.org.
SCRIP cards for teachers: Oftentimes I am asked what is the best way to show support for our teachers. I would answer that with continued prayer and encouraging words. But oftentimes teachers could alway use a little pick me up. If you are interested in using our SCRIP program to help them out, you can buy a gift certificate that lets the teachers choose the cards that best suit their needs either personally or in their classroom. All you need to do is give Jenni a call and she can set you up with this. Thanks in advance for thinking about ways to support our teachers and school.
Calendar Changes: I wanted to give you a heads up on a change to the school calendar in December. I have made the decision that we will not be coming to school on Wednesday, December 23. This decision is based on all the hard work and great effort put into place by our teachers, parents and amazing students. We will begin Christmas break after classes on Tuesday, December 22. Thank you in advance for your support of this.
Fantastically Fun Fridays: We are set for our Fridays in December:
12/4: Green and Red Day/Christmas Sweater Day
12/11: Popcorn Day (no special dress needed, just yummy popcorn as a treat)
12/18 PJ Day (preparing ourselves for Christmas break)
We hope these special days will make our Fridays a little brighter.
Evening Lights with Santa: There is information regarding the need for volunteers for this event. Please if you are able to help out (and for many of you it is part of your tuition contract) sign and return the form to the school office. This event is gathering great momentum in the community, and it is going to bring great joy to many. So we will need all the help we can get (especially in the days prior to the event). If you have any questions about the event or what you can do to help, please feel free to contact school.
Again thank you so much for all that you do to support our school and teachers. We are truly grateful for the sacrifices that you all are making to send your child to St. Victor School. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email.
Although Thanksgiving will be celebrated differently this year for many of us, there are many things to be thankful for.
God Bless,
Joe Peters
