Dear Parents and Guardians:
What a wonderful visit we had with Bishop Hying on Monday! It was great to celebrate mass with him and share our school. He had high praise for our students and staff.
STAR Scores: In today’s family envelope are STAR scores for most of our students Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. If your child does not have scores in their envelope it is because they have not completed their testing (due to absences etc.) as soon as the testing is complete we will send results home. If you have any questions about your child’s results please contact their teacher. You DO NOT need to return the results back to school. They are for you to keep.
PT Conference Sign Up: Thanks to all who have signed up for conferences. The link was sent home via email this past Sunday. If you have any questions or need the link please let me know.
Pregnancy Center Bottle Drive: We will again be collecting loose change for the Pregnancy Center. These baby bottles are to be returned by Thursday, Oct. 28. Thank you in advance for your support of this project.
Home and School General Meeting: Our Parent Only General Meeting will be held next Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 6:30pm in the gym. This meeting will focus on plans for the 21-22 school year as well as updates on Brunch with Santa, Mardi Gras, and other events throughout the year. We hope you can join us!
Sacramental Prep Meeting: There will be a parent only meeting for Catholic Second Graders preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:00 pm in the church.
Grandparents’ Day Block Party Friday, October 8: We will hold this year’s Grandparents Day outside. It will begin at 9:00 am. We are asking for Grandparents and guests to park in the main school parking lot. We will set up tables and chairs in 15th St(like a real block party). There will be a prayer service beginning at 9:00, followed by refreshments, and a short program. The whole event should last about an hour. To help us in the planning of this event, if you could please RSVP to jennic@stvictormonroe.org or (608)325-3395, by Wednesday, October 6, it would be greatly appreciated, although not required as we know that last minute arrivals do happen-and we love that. This will allow us to know how many folks we are to expect. We are looking forward to a great morning!
As we come to the end of the first month of the school year I want to reflect on the Friendzy theme “We Need Each Other”. For the success of our school and parish community we do need to work together for the good of all. I would strongly encourage you and your family to take some time each weekend to get to church. Our faith is an important part of who we are as a school, but also who we are as people. For those of you who are Catholic, I know Fr. T. would love to see many of our school families at our weekend masses learning and growing in your faith together. What a great goal to set for your family, getting back to church! As always, if you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out via email, joepeters@stvictormonroe.org or call school (608)325-3395.
God Bless,
Joe Peters
