Dear Parents and Guardians:

Fall is upon us, as always, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

Congratulations to our new Student Council Officers:

Elena Boss-President

Evelyn Eckdhal-Vice President

Violet McKibben-Secretary

Ella Mortimer-Treasurer

We will soon be electing classroom representatives to fill out our student council!

AM Drop off: For safety purposes I would appreciate it if people used our main parking lot and followed the morning drop off procedures we have in place. In the morning 20th Ave is very busy and can be at times dangerous, and I would prefer that Mr. Riddle didn’t have to cross so many families and students each morning. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

“Cook it Up for Charlotte”: On Tuesday, October 4 Mike Burke (dad of Teagan in 2nd Grade) is offering a donation for some yummy pulled pork that he had smoked. The donations you provide will help Charlotte Schneither and her family as they continue to seek medical help with Charlotte’s eating and growing concerns. There is a hand out in today’s envelope if you would like to participate. Mr. Burke will be located at the south end of the St. Victor School parking lot.

Grandparents/Special Friends Day, Thursday October 6: On Thursday, October 6 we will celebrate Grandparents’ Day at St. Victor School. The day will begin with GRANDPARENTS MEETING THEIR GRANDCHILDREN OVER AT CHURCH (in the new GATHERING SPACE). MASS WILL BEGIN AT 8:15 AM. The students will sit with their Grandparents during mass. After mass there will be an OPEN HOUSE/REFRESHMENTS at school. This will be about 9:15 or so (in case your family is unable to attend mass). Following the open house there will be a SHORT PROGRAM/CONCERT in the GYM. The whole event should be done by 10:00 am at the latest. I encourage you to pass all of this information on to those Grandparents/Special Friends who will be joining us.

Friday October 7: A reminder that St. Victor School HAS SCHOOL on Friday, Oct. 7. There is no school for the School District of Monroe, and there is NO BUS SERVICE that day. Hot lunch will be provided on that day. As always, thank you for your flexibility as we work through our calendar.

Pregnancy Center Bottle Drive: We will again be collecting loose change for the Pregnancy Center. These baby bottles are to be returned by Wednesday, October 26. Thank you in advance for your support of this project.

MAC Performance for 3-4-5-6 Graders: From Ms. Blanc: Save the date! Mark your calendars! Buy tickets now! St. Victor School students in grades 3-4-5-6 will be singing at the Monroe Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 21 as the opening act for the Notre Dame Glee Club. We are VERY excited for this extraordinary opportunity and need as many singers as possible to please attend. Students are able to attend the full concert for free after their performance. Students who do not wish to stay for the entire concert will be escorted by school staff outside MAC for pick-up.

Parents may purchase tickets by calling 608.325.5700 or online at https://monroeartscenter.com/event/notre-dame-glee-club/ More information about dress, meeting time, etc. will be forthcoming.

Flu Clinic: Green County Department of Health will be providing a flu shot clinic for students. This is a personal choice for students in 4K-6th. If you are interested there is information in today’s family envelope, with forms you are to return to the office by Friday, Oct. 7.

Knights of Columbus Open Gym: The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring men’s open gym pickup basketball at St. Victor Catholic School to be held on Tuesday nights 6:30 – 8:30 pm beginning October 11, 2022. Every week has an open-door policy for anyone interested. Entrance is on the side of the school facing 20th Avenue. Any questions, please contact: John Sauer (262) 490-8018.

Parish Dinner, Sunday, Oct. 9: Please join us on Sunday, Oct. 9 for our Fall Pork Chop Dinner. The dinner will take place in the school gym (or carry outs are available). If you have not returned your raffle tickets please do so, this event helps our entire parish community. The dinner cost is $12.00 which includes pork chop, twice baked, green beans, applesauce, roll, and homemade dessert.

Sunday, Oct. 16: This is our first Children’s Choir and Mass Ministry Sunday. This is a time our students will be leaders for our parish community! This is such a HUGE responsibility as well as a great way to support our parish (and market our school) to our larger community. COME one COME all to sing in the choir and be part of our Sunday Mass. After mass, there will be donuts, drinks and bingo downstairs in the new space!

God Bless,

Joe Peters

Principal
