Dear Parents and Guardians:

Well it is not the most ideal situation, but please know how much we appreciate your patience and support as we pivot toward virtual learning for a full week. We look forward to coming back to in-person learning next Thursday, Feb. 18.

PLEASE review the schedule I have attached for the grade levels. Each grade level cohort has a different schedule to balance the day out. So please make sure you consult that schedule again...and again. As always I appreciate your flexibility to make this virtual time work for us.

I had sent the following link in my email on Saturday, this past summer we worked with a Google Coach and she created videos for all of us…..

Here are some informational videos that will be able to help your family:

Again as we work through this, be patient. It is new for many of us as several of our classrooms have not had to go virtual yet this year.

Mardi Gras Madness: Our Mardi Gras Madness event is fast approaching!! Saturday, March 13 will be here in 4½ short weeks! Thank you for all your support of our special virtual event this year!! It's been so great to see all of the creative ideas and donations that you guys have been drumming up to make the event a success.

1) All families that plan to "watch" the event are being encouraged to register for a "PARTY PACK" to complete their Mardi Gras Madness GameDay experience. The PARTY PACK includes 1 Suisse Haus Take-n-Bake 1-topping pizza, 4 Blumers Sodas, 2 Pecatonica Beers or 2 Sutter Home Mini Wines, 2 Custom T-shirts, Party Favors, and a Poster Board to decorate with your St. Victor Spirit. Packs sell for a great deal at $15 each (retail value is well over $45), additional pizzas and T-shirts can be ordered on the store as well. Pickups will be held on Wednesday, 3/10 or Thursday, 3/11 in the back patio area of Suisse Haus.

Order your PARTY PACK at our store site: svschoolmardigras.itemorder.com

2) On Saturday, March 13, you can join the live watch party at 7pm directly on our facebook page or via the stvictormonroe.org/mardi-gras site. You DO NOT need a facebook account. Please encourage any extended family and friends who don't have facebook to use the website. The event will be a continuous live video from 7pm-9pm, but we expect people to join/leave as they wish during that time. We will be running contests, games, raffles, etc throughout the event. More on that soon....

3) We have had great participation from families who have donated new items/baskets for the online auction. We still have lots of room for more. If you are looking for ideas, please reach out to a Mardi Gras committee member. Keep in mind that completed baskets with items you as a family enjoy sell well, hand crafted items sell well, or we can also use cash/Amazon cards to complete baskets we are building with misc donations.

Updated Fish Fry Schedule: I wanted to let you know that the parish has changed dates for the upcoming Lent Fish Frys. This is drive thru only and the dates are the following: March 5, March 19, and April 2 from 4:30-7:00 pm.

Ash Wednesday: Unfortunately we will not be in person school on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. The live stream mass for St. Clare of Assisi Parish will be at 8:00 am that morning. There will be NO MORNING MEETING from me that morning, I will remind students of that as well. Lent is a special time in our church, we focus for 40 days on prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We hope that this year’s Lent journey will be a special one as we continue to focus on acting justly, walking humbly, and loving tenderly. You can view and all livestream masses at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/c/stclareparishyoutube/live

Thank you again so much for your support of our school. We realize that virtual is not the best for many of us, but we will continue to work hard to get through this time. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call or email.

God Bless,

Joe Peters
