Dear Parents and Guardians:

Evening Lights with Santa: This is the big weekend! Thank you to all who have signed up for the event, please arrive a few minutes early (4:30ish) to get in your volunteer position! Volunteers can park on the streets around the fairgrounds, dress warmly, but festively, since it is an outdoor activity masking is not required, when you arrive please check in at the gate on the east side of the fairground (29th Ave end). I look forward to a great weekend showing off our amazing school! If you have any questions, or need more raffle tickets to sell, please contact the office. There is a wonderful silent auction with some great prizes, bidding starts Thursday at 3pm. You can check out the items for auction now at https://charityauction.bid/EveningLightswithSanta

Winter Gear: Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather! When we get measurable snow, they will need boots and snow pants. They should also have hats and gloves. We will plan on being outside as long as the actual temperature and windchill are above 0 degrees.

Vaccination Clinic: The second shot vaccination for students will be held this Friday, Dec. 10 from 1:30-3:30 at Northside School. You should have received an email from Mrs. Coplien this week with more details. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Students on Quarantine: A reminder for those students who have to go into quarantine, we are using the following procedures:

  • All assignments and some teaching videos(depending upon grade level) will be available on Google Classroom

  • All work will be given to students for a week at a time, with drop off and pick up the following Monday.

  • Please allow teachers 24 hours to get the work together for the student

  • Teachers are available via email if student (or parents have questions)

  • Teachers will reach out as well to see if there are any questions or concerns

  • Please make sure that students are completing assignments so they do not fall behind

Attendance: Please make sure you call or email the office if your child is not attending school for any reason. It might be best to email both classroom teacher and office at the same time.

Spelling Bee: Congratulations to the following students who will be representing St. Victor School in the School District of Monroe Spelling Bee:

Elena Boss-1st Place

Sawyer-Meier-2nd Place

Evelyn Eckdhal-3rd Place

Hazel Ermey-4th Place

Ella Mortimer-Alternate

Christmas Concert: The concert day is soon approaching. Due to the fact that we will be doing two concerts this year (1:00 and 6:30), it would be nice for the students to dress in “concert attire” for the day. We would ask again that all guests be wearing masks, and not to arrive before 12:30 or 6:00. I would ask that we leave the spots closest to the church for parking for our guests that may need to be closer to the church. A reminder to please encourage some of your family members to attend the 1:00 pm concert. Our 4K AM class is invited to come back to the afternoon performance; they can meet Mrs. Sabatke and the 4KPM class in the church by 12:40 pm. Both groups are expected to be there by 6:10 that evening. If you have any questions about the concert, please feel free to contact us at school, 325-3395.

Christmas Eve Liturgy: St. Victor School students have the wonderful opportunity to lead the singing at 4 p.m. Mass Christmas Eve at St. Victor Church. All students K-5 are invited to participate in this liturgy as song leaders. Singers in grades 3-4-5 are especially needed. Students are asked to arrive at church between 3 and 3:30 p.m., and parents will want to do the same to secure a seat for this well-attended Mass. This is a great way to represent our school to the parish community that gives so much to our children.

Please know how much I appreciate all that you do to support St. Victor School and its mission. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school, (608)325-3395 or email joepeters@stvictormonroe.org.

God Bless,

Joe Peters

Principal
